Privacy Policy

Buzzword Bingo Game (buzzwordbingogame.com) is a personal project run by Frank Ledo. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it is used.

What we collect

If you play without an account: We collect no personal information. Server access logs (including IP addresses) are retained for up to one year for security and traffic analysis, then automatically deleted.

If you create an account: We store your email address, a username you choose, and any bingo games you create. Your email is never displayed publicly — only your username is visible. We generate a profile avatar by passing a one-way hash of your email address to Gravatar; Gravatar may show a photo if you have an account there, otherwise a geometric pattern is shown.

Sign-in methods

You can sign in with an email address and password, or via Google, Apple, or Facebook. When you use a third-party provider, we receive only your email address and a provider-specific identifier — we do not receive your password or other profile data from those services. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect.

Cookies

We use one session cookie (next-auth.session-token) to keep you signed in. It is HTTP-only, never readable by JavaScript, and expires when you sign out or after 24 hours of inactivity. A short-lived CSRF cookie is also set to protect form submissions. We use no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.

How we use your information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To display your games on your public creator profile
• To generate your Gravatar avatar
• We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising

Where data is stored

Account data is stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all associated data directly from your profile page. All your games and data are deleted immediately. System games derived from your games via promotion are independently maintained copies and are not affected.

User-submitted content

You may submit questions, issue reports, game suggestions, or buzzword suggestions via the contact page. Submissions may be made anonymously or with an optional email address. If submitted while signed in, submissions are linked to your account.

Email addresses provided with submissions, and the email address associated with your account, may be used to respond to your submissions or to contact you about your account or games — for example, to notify you that a submitted game was featured, or to follow up on an issue you reported. We will not use your email for marketing or share it with third parties.

Submitted game suggestions and buzzwords may be incorporated into the site's content at our discretion.

Community-created games

Games created by registered users are their own content. Buzzword Bingo Game does not review user-created games before they are published to creator pages.

If a user game is featured in the main game directory (/cards), it has been reviewed and edited by the site admin before publishing.
